India: From the Inside Out
Scott Bayman (BSBA, 1968) came back to campus on January 22 to share his expertise as a corporate officer of the General Electric Company, where he serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of GE - India. His years of experience lend unique insight into doing business in a culture that is completely opposite of life in America, and he touched on these topics in his speech "India: 13 Years on the Inside."
Bayman joined GE in 1987 as Manager of Business Development for GE Appliances in Louisville, Ky. The following year, he was selected as Product General Manager for Range Products and, in 1991, elected a GE Vice President, responsible for Appliances Consumer Service. The following year, he was appointed Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Product Management for GE Appliances. Mr. Bayman assumed his present position and relocated to India in 1993.
Mr. Bayman serves on the International Advisory Boards of the Indian School of Business and the University of Pennsylvania's Center for the Advanced Study of India. He is a member of the Board of the US India Business Council, trustee for Aspen India and past Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce India. He is also on the Board of Trustees of Aspen India.
Mr. Bayman's previous work experience includes positions as a Management Consultant with the firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton Inc., and Director of Corporate Strategic Planning for United Technologies Corporation. He has also held a number of positions with General Motors and AT&T.
Fisher School Grad Named One of Top 100 Lawyers in the US
Stuart R. Morris (BSAC '86; JD '89) has been named to Worth magazine's Top 100 Attorneys list. This prestigious list of the top lawyers in the nation serving affluent individuals' personal and family needs was published in the December 2006 issue. Worth names the top 100 Attorneys for 2006 in a variety of practice areas whose sterling credentials and unvarnished reputations are a credit to the field. Mr. Morris is a founding partner of the Morris Law Group.
"I am honored to have been chosen for this distinguished list. I take pride in the effort I give, and the results that I get, for each client. It means a lot to be recognized by my clients as worthy of this list and to be recognized for the work that I've done for them," Morris said.
Mr. Morris founded his own estate planning, asset preservation and estate administration firm (which later became the Morris Law Group) in 1991. In addition to being Board Certified by The Florida Bar in both wills, trusts and estates and elder law, he is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Morris employs his combined legal and tax experience to interpret and translate complex legal issues to benefit clients. He is a member of the Florida Bar, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Bar Association.
